Smear the Soap

Elijah notices Sean getting smaller, not because the weight means anything either way to him—he's never cared—but because the confidence that being back to normal weight gives Sean means the world to him. They'll shower together now, which is something Sean never felt comfortable doing before. Under the spray for much longer than necessary, with the soap shining off Sean's shoulders and trickling clinging bubbles down. Elijah's eyes stray with them. He puts his fingertips there at the cleft, smears the soap. Sean shivers and turns; and they come together like two halves amidst the plumes of steam.
