Welcome to the mb.net birthday challenge!
On October 19, 2006, Monaboyd.net celebrates its third birthday! I thought the anniversary would be a good opportunity for a small challenge, in order to celebrate the Monaboyd-y goodness in style and give the domain a revamp. But although this challenge is for graphically-talented people, everyone can particpate - by voting for the submitted layouts. You choose the new design for mb.net!
Celebrate with me: artists - everybody
The challenge:
Artists, you have two ways to contribute:
1. Make a new layout for mb.net. It has to incorporate all content currently on display, and I have to be able to split it into header, content and footer (i.e. create one template that will work for the whole site).
2. If this is a bit too much, you can also make new buttons for people to link to mb.net or the fanfic archive.
How to do it
1. Email me (using the contact link on the right) to let me know you're playing. No need for specifics, I'd just like to know what to expect.
2. Create a complete site design, including sample page, graphics, stylesheet, etc. As font please use something readily available, like Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, etc. Including a link back to your own website is completely acceptable.
3. Do not steal other people's artwork for your design (i.e. ask for permission when using manips, wallpapers, etc.).
4. Finish before October 19, 2006 and post your layout template. Send me a link to your contribution, so I can add it to the website. If you don't have webspace, I'm happy to host it for you.
5. Naturally all your contributions have to be Billy/Dom. They will be displayed here.
All suitable layouts submitted will be available as a site skin for mb.net (crediting the artist, of course), but the winning layout will become the default skin.
The voting:
On October 19, 2006, I will open the poll for all submitted layouts, giving you the choice of what this domain will look like in the future! All suitable submitted layouts will be available as site skin, but the winning layout will have the honour of becoming the new default skin.
